Quick start

Sign-up to your first scored call. · Last updated 6 September 2026

From a cold sign-up to your first scored call is about fifteen minutes, and most of that is deciding what “good” means on your floor.

1. Create the workspace

Sign up at /signup. The Free plan needs no card: 10 hours of talk time a month, 30 minutes a day, one account, one seat. It is a real plan, not a trial clock, and it exists so you can find out whether the coaching helps before you pay for it.

2. Create an account (the client or campaign)

In Merdial an account is who you are calling on behalf of. It carries the script, the rubric, the qualification criteria and the delivery rules. Everything the AI judges, it judges against the account — so a floor running three clients grades each one by its own bar rather than by an average.

3. Set the bar

  • Rubric — the metrics you score on, their weights, and the bands. Start with the default and edit it after your first ten calls; you will know more then.
  • Qualification criteria — what has to be true for a lead to be worth sending. Be strict. The review queue is much less work than an angry client.
  • Knowledge — scripts, rebuttals, objection handling. This is what live coaching draws from mid-call.

4. Get audio in

Install the Windows desktop app and sign in. It captures whatever you already dial with — softphone, desk app, browser — and sits beside it. Press start when the call starts. Capture is an explicit action, never a background state.

Before your first live call

Make sure your opening line discloses recording. See Terms §7.1 — in fourteen US states every party has to consent, and the fix is one sentence at the top of the script.

5. Make a call, then read the scorecard

Coaching appears on screen while you talk. The score lands a few seconds after hang-up, with the transcript, the outcome, the objections that came up and the qualification draft. If the score is wrong, dispute it — that is the mechanism that makes the next one right.

6. Add your team

Invite members and grant pages individually. Roles are presets that seed the checklist, not walls. See Roles & permissions.
