Audio reaches Merdial two ways. Both talk to the same backend with the same per-tenant isolation, so what you see is identical whichever one your floor uses.
Desktop app (Windows)

Capture is an explicit act
The client captures when a session is started or a call is detected on a connected line. It does not listen in the background, and it never captures audio from anything but the call.Phone and meeting connectors
In a Sales Development workspace, open Settings → Connectors to connect a supported phone or meeting provider with OAuth. Choose a default account, map provider users to Merdial users, and add routing rules when a line, calendar or host belongs to a different account. Healthy connectors tell the desktop app when the mapped user answers, joins, leaves or hangs up, so capture starts and stops with the interaction.
- Phones: Aircall, Dialpad, RingCentral and Zoom Phone.
- Meetings: Zoom Meetings, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.
- Available history imports interaction metadata and encountered contacts for up to 90 days.
- Recordings and transcripts still come only from Merdial's desktop capture.

What happens while the call is live
- Audio is transcribed in real time, speaker-attributed.
- Coaching cards surface as objections and buying signals appear.
